Owned by the Ligne family since 1394, Beloeil castle began as a fortress with a moat and corner towers. In the 17th and 18th centuries it was transformed into a luxurious French-style country residence, earning the nickname the “Belgian Versailles”.
Its gardens are a major asset: a baroque garden laid out from 1664, with straight avenues and geometric ponds, partly reworked around 1770 by Prince Charles-Joseph de Ligne in the landscape style. The castle library holds more than twenty thousand books. For your receptions it is a rare historic setting in Wallonia, which we complement with cuisine and scenography worthy of the place.
