Wahenge farm has been listed as a monument and site since 1994 and recognised as exceptional heritage of Wallonia since 2013. A former dependency of Averbode Abbey, it was rebuilt from 1705 after the plundering of the 17th century; the present buildings, raised between 1718 and 1784 around a central courtyard, combine whitewashed brick and Gobertange sandstone under slate roofs.
The great barn of 1718 is its largest volume, and a dovecote crowns the entrance porch. It is one of the finest examples of rural architecture in Brabant, for events in a unique historic setting.
